Sundays With Satie: Week 7

Satie Little’s diary for the week of February 12-February 18, 1900. It’s only the middle of February and this week mentions ANOTHER funeral. It’s the third funeral mentioned in six weeks for little Satie Little.

Monday, February 12, 1900

A lovery day. I went to school. Jim went to bath with a load of potatoes and sold them to Bowes go 45 cents a bu. Let Washed. Ma was Lides

Tuesday, February 13, 1900

A quite a nice forenoon rained at noon. The wind blowed terrible at night. Pa and Jim went up to the sale.
I did not go to school thought Jen & Rich would be over but did not come. Pa went down to Lides in the P.M.

Marion S. was here to supper. Us 3 girls went to church. Ede Loghy came up home with us. Us 4 girls were here alone.

Wednesday, February 14, 1900

A nice day. I went to school. Marion went home in the morning. Pa and ma come home from Lides and Let went down to meeting with her. pa went to meeting.

Thursday, February 15, 1900

An awful blustery day. I went to school. Let and I went over to Ruby Stephens party in the evening. Had a nice time.
Will Platt took along Marion and Ede and Eva and Let and I.
Maggie Foreman died at 4 o’clock.

Friday, February 16, 1900

A nice day. I went to school in the afternoon. Pa and Let went to meeting in the evening. Mr. Wilcox preached. Pa went to Bath. Aunt Zill went home in the morning.

Saturday, February 17, 1900

A nice day. I was at home. Jim took of a load of the mill down to Willards – the first load.
Pa went over to Patterson. Uncle Andres folks came over to Pattersons to look at the place. Came over here to dinner and stayed all night.
Maggie Foreman’s funeral was at 11 o’clock to the Methodist church at Fowlsville. She was buried at Fowlsville.

Sunday, February 18, 1900

A nice day. Cold. Uncle Andrews folks were here to breakfast went down to Aunt Zills in the forenoon. Jen and Rich came over in the morning. Went home at night.
