Sundays With Satie: Week 3


This is week 3 of the 1900 diary of 13-year old Satie Little of Stueben County, New York (near Bath). Satie still isn’t going in to many details but she is getting a bit wordier.

Monday, January 15, 1900

A quite a nice day snowed some at night. I went to school. Pa & Ma & Uncle Nelt & Aunt Lot spent the evening with Jim & Addie.

Tuesday, January 16, 1900

A nice day. I went to school. Pa & MA & Uncle Nelt & Aunt Lot went to the soldiers home and then to Bath.

Wednesday, January 17, 1900

A nice day. I went to school in the forenoon. Jen & Rich came over in the afternoon. We all went down to Mag & Franks Wedding. They were married in the church at 7 o’clock PM

Thursday, January 18, 1900

Quite a nice forenoon rained in the afternoon. Pa & Ma & Uncle Nelt went down to Ede’s. I went to school.

Friday, January 19, 1900

A nice day. I went to school. Jim took Aunt Lot & Uncle Nelt down to Uncle Charlie’s

Saturday, January 20, 1900

A stormy day it rained. Aunt Lot & I went over to Jen’s & stayed all night.

Sunday, January 21, 1900

A nice day. Quite cold. We come Rena’s & R.C.’s stayed there to dine we came home in the after-noon. We stayed to Jim’s and let Addie and Jim to go to meeting with us. Mt. Wheeler preached. Mrs. Wheeler sang.
