I’ve been looking all over for the Hunts match book recipes! My dad used the recipes from the match books when I was a little girl. He asked me to find some of his favorites for him. Do you by any chance have the 7 layer casserole or Sheppard’s pie recipes/books?
It would make a wonderful Father’s Day gift. My dad just had his 78th birthday, June 12. He raised me and my 3 siblings on his own. Cooked us dinner every night when he got home from work, the hunts recipes quick and convenient meals for a single dad.
I would buy him the recipe book, if I could find a source.
Oh I hope you’ll share more photos/recipes. Please?
Kindly,
Jill – grateful daughter. I love my dad!
I have the match book of the Shepherd’s Pie!
WOW! What a gem. My mom used these recipes in the 60s. I saw a love is article from the 70s. I flashed back to Matchbook Recipas. Googled it. Found a few.

It was a favorite of my family.
A favorite when I was a child was Hot Dog Casserole. Do any of your matchbooks have that recipe? My kids love it also. They are 38 & 35 now!
Do you have the meatloaf one? I remember it was my favorite over 50 years ago and have been looking for the recipe for a long time.
I found it: Savory Meat Loaf

1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups Hunt’s catsup

I am looking for a recipe my wonderful mother in law made for her family. She called it Chuck Wagon Beans and it came from a matchbook. I know she used Hunts tomatoes and she also used B & M BAKED RED KIDNEY BEANS which are rather sweet and almost impossible to find. Though I am winging it when I make this dish, I would love to make the exact Matchbook recipe for these beans if I could find the recipe. Thank you.
My mom used to make “Oven Stew Italiano” from a matchbook. I would love to find that recipe.
